Marian Bantjes is a Canadian designer, artist, illustrator, typographer and writer who was born in 1963. She is very detailed and obsessive in her art, her patterning and ornament work. Bantjes is a member of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and she has spoken about her work at over 100 conferences and events all around the world since 2006. Bantjes started out as a book typesetter from 1984-1994 and then in 1994-2003 she ran Digitopolis (a graphic design studio). Now, since 2003 she has been working as a designer, artist, and letterer and this is what she has been known for. Her work has been published in over 100 books and magazines. She has judged many awards, but she has never entered into any. The awards she has judged includes D&AD (UK), TDC (NY) and ADC (NY). It is quite amazing to see how Canada has such a talented artist and how much detail and effort Bantjes puts into her work.
